Environmental and water protection
Ecology and environmental and water protection are permanent tasks effectively performed by the port on a continuous basis. Particular attention is paid to the storage of scrap, which is carried out in specialised areas, appropriately fenced off, and the cargo is constantly monitored not to leave the designated areas.
In the near future it is planned to carry out continuous spraying of the cargo with water during its handling in order to prevent dust emissions into the atmosphere and beyond the work areas.
The treatment of industrial waters is performed by means of specially installed two-stage mud-oil traps arresters with continuous monitoring on the treated waters.
The port also performs all-year-round monitoring of air pollution and dust emissions, resulting from cargo handling at various technological areas.
